Catholic Gymkhana Cricket Win

Opener Sandeep Agarwal’s solid 82 steers Catholic Gymkhana to a title win in the finals of Div ‘A’ Kanga Knockout Tournament ‘18

Played at the Police Gymkhana Ground, it was the all important finals of the grueling and hard bought Kanga Knockout Tournment Div A where Catholic Gymkhana and United Cricket Club stood out from so many teams with their consistent perfomance.

United Cricket Club batted first on a wicket which had equal assistance for both the batsman as well as the bowlers. United CC managed to score a decent 222/8 in 45overs which is not a low total but neither an intimidating one with Shubham Gaikwad and Nihal Joshi top scoring with 40’s. From the bowlers Manoj G and Omkar Sawant bowled well taking 3 and 2wkts each.

Chasing 223, Catholic Gymkhana were off to a flying start with their openers Ashish Gharat(47) and Sandeep Agarwal taking the onus of chasing on their shoulders. Sandeep went on to score a match winning 82 off 98balls laced with 7fours and 3sixes which solidified the chase and changed the momentum in his team’s favor. Eventually they chased down the score comfortably with Sanjeev Raut (33*) and Prashant Gajare (43*) finishing off the chase successfully.

Message from Ronald H. Mendonca

Dear Mr. Gomes,

Trust you are well.
I am writing to share my feedback in the context of a party I had hosted on 27th August 2016 at the Catholic Gymkhana Hall (ground floor).
The newly refurbished hall left me and my guests, many of whom are members at other clubs in the city, very impressed. The hall has been very tastefully designed and the decor and lighting options are excellent. The Hall will certainly be the pride of the Catholic Gymkhana and I have no hesitation in recommending it to my acquaintances.
My hearty congratulations to you and your team who must have worked very hard to turn this project around in time while paying attention to every minute detail.
Also, a word of appreciation for the support staff at the venue during our event, who were very prompt and helpful.
Best Wishes to you and your team.
Thank you,
Kind regards,

Ronald H. Mendonca
